71710-111To be perfectly honest, I am the biggest offender of this.  Are you the type of person that listens to their body?  To you know exactly what your body is saying all of the time?  If you are anything like me then the answer to those questions is no.  Well – there are many ways that you can get in tune with your body.

One of the first things that you need to think about is the fact that your body will give you signs when it is not feeling well.  Most of the time, you probably ignore these particular signs and that is when you get sick.

The body will keep sending distress signals and they can come in the form of sudden pain, insomnia and even anxiety.


Healthy Ways To Keep Your Liver Healthy

healthy_womanKeeping your body healthy is something that is very, very difficult – however, keeping your liver healthy is something that is even harder.  What you might not know is that the liver has about 500 essential functions within your body but the main, main role of it is to get rid of all of the toxins in your body, meaning that your liver is almost like the filter in your body.  The liver will eliminate all of the drugs in your bloodstream as well, so that is why it is very important that you keep this essential organ very healthy!

In order to maintain a very healthy liver, there are a few things that you need to do.  Firstly, you need to stop the alcohol intake, as that passes through the liver. Next, you need to avoid other people’s blood or body fluids, which will stop hepatitis and also get vaccinated against hepatitis.

Next, make sure that you stay very healthy yourself and maintain a good weight, as that will help your body in the long run, especially your liver.


The Roots of a Depression

depressionDepression is still not completely understood, especially with the alteration in the brain chemistry resulting to it. But there are several identifiable triggers for depression.

First, we have stress. There are many possible causes of stress, which can cause or worsen depression.

Then we have trauma. Persons may suffer PTSD or Post – Traumatic Stress Disorder from intense physical or emotional trauma or abuse can lead to long periods of depression and other psychological difficulties.

Reduced sun exposure is said to play a role in depression. There were cases wherein people experience decreased mood during winter months.

Genetics can also be a factor in depression. But it doesn’t mean that you are vulnerable to the problem if you have one or more relatives who suffered the condition.

There are diseases that can cause depression, like hypothyroidism, which is caused by a deficiency of thyroid hormone.

Changes in body levels of some substances can precipitate depression. For instance, when the levels of estrogen in women and testosterone in men decline, they may experience mood swings and depression together with some physiological changes.
